Passive Income Opportunity Scan
Date: 2026-08-17
Cadence: Weekly
Scope: Fresh autonomous or low-touch revenue opportunities for the agent team. Excludes OpenClaw promotion to non-technical users, direct FinPipe/QuantPipe monetization, and projects already in active development.
Executive summary
I reviewed all existing files in reports/opportunities/, including the embedded GitcheGumi notes and the 2026-08-03 and 2026-08-10 scans. The durable preferences remain: use the existing GitchPage blog and Etsy presence; favor automatic fulfillment and narrowly tested catalogs; finished crochet is acceptable but not passive; avoid generic paid APIs, content farms, sales-heavy marketplaces, and undifferentiated STL/template stores.
This week's best three experiments are (1) a parametric OpenSCAD utility-file line, (2) a maker recall/warranty digest with a free-to-paid funnel, and (3) local-only affiliate-link health tooling for GitchPage and other static sites. Each can start as a bounded product, has a low-cost validation gate, and does not require a broad sales operation. Revenue ranges below are directional gross scenarios, not forecasts.

Findings
1. Parametric OpenSCAD maker-utility files
Sell editable OpenSCAD source files plus ready-to-print STLs for mundane, measurable objects: cable-label clips, spool adapters, pegboard spacers, battery dividers, router-template guides, and custom-width drawer bins. The differentiator is not a generic STL catalog; buyers receive a documented parameter sheet and can change dimensions locally without CAD expertise.
Why fresh / fit. Earlier scans covered ordinary STL sales and memberships. This is a source-code product with repeatable QA and a defensible “fits your measurement” outcome. Use Etsy for instant delivery and optionally publish one free model on a creator platform as the funnel.
Validation gate. Ship three families with 15 physical test prints across two printers/materials. Expand only if the first three listings produce five sales or 25 qualified saves in 30 days.
Effort and revenue. 1–2 weeks; 90% automated fulfillment; $100–$1,000/month after a useful catalog exists. Human test-printing is mandatory.
Agents. DesignGumi (geometry), CodeGumi (parameter validation/export), ReviewGumi (print QA), MarketGumi (listings).
2. Maker recall and warranty intelligence digest
Monitor public manufacturer recall pages, CPSC notices, and official support bulletins for 3D printers, batteries, power tools, smart plugs, and homelab hardware. Publish a free monthly GitchPage roundup and sell a $4–$7/month alert tier with saved-product lists and concise action checklists. This is information organization, not legal or safety advice.
Why fresh / fit. It turns ResearchGumi's monitoring capability into a narrow recurring product without selling a generic scraping API. The subject naturally supports first-hand maker content and careful affiliate links only after safety information is delivered.
Validation gate. Run free for six weeks. Require 50 email subscribers and at least ten users saving product categories before charging.
Effort and revenue. 1–2 weeks setup, 2–4 hours/week review; $50–$750/month at 10–150 members. Automation can collect candidates, but a human must verify every alert against the primary notice.
Agents. ResearchGumi, ScribeGumi, CodeGumi, SocialGumi.
3. Local-only static-site affiliate link health checker
Sell a CLI/GitHub Action configuration pack that scans Markdown for dead destinations, missing disclosure blocks, malformed tracking parameters, duplicate offers, and stale “price as of” text. It reports problems; it never injects or rewrites affiliate links. A free core can be open source, with paid policy presets and report templates.
Why fresh / fit. This uses the affiliate theme the user liked while avoiding the previously rejected affiliate-injection extension. It first solves GitchPage's own maintenance problem and has no hosted compute requirement.
Validation gate. Run against GitchPage and three public sample sites. Sell the first version as a $19–$39 one-time pack; only consider hosting after ten paid users.
Effort and revenue. 1–2 weeks; 95% automated; $50–$500/month equivalent from licenses and optional updates.
Agents. CodeGumi, MarketGumi, ScribeGumi, ReviewGumi.
4. 3D-printer maintenance QR-card kit
Create a printable/digital kit containing model-specific maintenance intervals, consumable-change tags, QR labels linking to the owner's own maintenance log, nozzle inventory cards, and calibration history sheets. Start with platform-neutral cards and user-entered schedules; do not reproduce copyrighted manuals or claim manufacturer endorsement.
Why fresh / fit. This is an operational companion for printer owners, not another decorative model or generic maker-business bundle. Delivery is instant and it can lead naturally to tested maintenance-tool affiliate articles.
Validation gate. Release a free one-page sampler and one $7–$12 kit. Stop if 100 sampler downloads produce fewer than three purchases.
Effort and revenue. 3–5 days; 95% automated; $50–$500/month.
Agents. DesignGumi, ResearchGumi, MarketGumi.
5. Homelab printable documentation pack
Sell a coordinated pack for home-server owners: rack elevation sheets, cable maps, drive-bay labels, UPS test cards, restore-drill checklists, service dependency maps, and emergency “what to restart” cards. Offer PDF/SVG and an editable source format, with no credentials or private topology uploaded anywhere.
Why fresh / fit. It uses genuine subject-matter experience and targets a buyer group GitchPage can credibly serve. It is narrower than generic Notion/productivity templates and fully local/private.
Validation gate. Build the pack from a real homelab workflow, publish two useful pages free, and charge $12–$24 for the complete editable bundle. Require five organic sales before adding formats.
Effort and revenue. 4–7 days; 95% automated delivery; $50–$600/month.
Agents. SysGumi (workflow), DesignGumi, ScribeGumi, MarketGumi.
6. SeekMake-aligned tested-print review series
Publish first-hand GitchPage reviews of outsourced or locally produced 3D prints: surface quality, dimensional accuracy, material choice, packaging, and use after 30 days. SeekMake advertises a partner program with commission on referred orders. Treat the program's claimed partner counts and payouts as marketing claims until verified during application.
Why fresh / fit. Prior scans proposed generic tool affiliate pages. This is a measurable test protocol tied to a 3D-print service and original evidence, making the content useful without the affiliate link.
Validation gate. Publish three non-sponsored test articles with clear disclosures and unique photos. Continue only if outbound clicks exceed 3% or the articles generate a first conversion within 90 days.
Effort and revenue. 4–6 hours per article plus print cost; 60% automatable; $25–$400/month with compounding search traffic.
Agents. ResearchGumi, ScribeGumi, MarketGumi, SocialGumi, human tester.
7. Finished-crochet care-and-gifting companion kit
Add an optional digital companion to finished-crochet Etsy orders: printable care cards, gift-message cards, item-history cards, repair-request instructions, and a wardrobe/storage tracker. Also sell a generic maker edition to other small crochet sellers. Avoid patterns and avoid pretending finished-item production is passive.
Why fresh / fit. It directly supports the user's stated preference for finished crochet and improves order value without increasing stitch time. This is buyer aftercare, distinct from last week's order planners and vouchers.
Validation gate. Bundle it free with five finished-item orders, collect feedback, then list the seller edition at $6–$12.
Effort and revenue. 3–5 days; 95% digital fulfillment; $25–$300/month for the seller edition, plus possible conversion/retention lift on physical goods.
Agents. DesignGumi, MarketGumi, human maker validation.
8. Godot release-readiness template pack
Sell a maintained, engine-version-specific pack for indie developers: release checklist, export-preset review sheet, controller/accessibility QA matrix, store-page asset checklist, crash-report intake template, and a clean GitHub issue taxonomy. Include a small validation script only where it can be reliable. Validate against Godot 4.5, the required local review baseline, and label the supported version clearly.
Why fresh / fit. This is a digital operations product for game developers, not a generic game asset pack. It leverages CodeGumi/ReviewGumi knowledge and can be sold on itch.io with automated delivery.
Validation gate. Give the first edition to five indie developers; require two users to complete a release with it before charging $9–$19.
Effort and revenue. 5–8 days, then 2–4 hours per supported engine release; $50–$500/month.
Agents. CodeGumi, ReviewGumi, ScribeGumi, DesignGumi.
9. GitHub Sponsors dependency-maintenance utility
Open-source a narrow command-line utility that turns a repository lockfile into a human-readable “maintenance attention” report: abandoned packages, stale release cadence, missing funding metadata, and direct-dependency ownership. Monetize optional maintenance through GitHub Sponsors and sell a polished policy/report preset pack; do not gate security fixes.
Why fresh / fit. GitHub reported Sponsors passing $100 million in cumulative funding in July 2026, which validates the channel but not any individual project's demand. This utility earns sponsorship only after delivering public value and is distinct from a generic sponsor-promotion service.
Validation gate. Obtain 100 stars or 20 recurring users before spending time on paid extras. Treat sponsorship as upside, not the base case.
Effort and revenue. 1–2 weeks plus 2–5 hours/month; $0–$400/month initially.
Agents. CodeGumi, ReviewGumi, ScribeGumi, SocialGumi.
10. Digital-product storefront conversion test on Blink
Blink launched publicly on August 11, 2026 and advertises storefronts, global checkout, order bumps, cart recovery, affiliates, and email tools. Mirror only one already-created, non-exclusive bundle on a trial storefront and measure checkout conversion and recovery—not a wholesale migration. Keep Etsy as the discovery channel and avoid duplicate-catalog maintenance until Blink proves incremental sales.
Why fresh / fit. The platform launch occurred after last week's scan. The opportunity is a controlled distribution test using an existing asset, not building another product or marketplace.
Validation gate. Verify fees, tax handling, payouts, exportability, and terms directly. Run for 60 days; keep it only if net conversion or average order value beats the existing checkout enough to cover maintenance.
Effort and revenue. 2–3 days; $25–$300/month incremental if the channel converts. Platform durability is the main risk.
Agents. MarketGumi, DesignGumi, CodeGumi.
11. Printer-material compatibility mini-database
Create a curated, source-linked database of public manufacturer guidance for combinations such as nozzle type, enclosure needs, drying guidance, build-surface compatibility, and common failure symptoms. Sell quarterly CSV/JSON snapshots and a printable quick-reference edition; keep a free subset on GitchPage. Do not copy proprietary tables wholesale, and separate official claims from community observations.
Why fresh / fit. It is a compact data product, not a metered API. It serves the existing maker/3D-print direction and can be maintained by change detection plus human verification.
Validation gate. Start with 30 materials from five primary manufacturers. Require 100 free-subset users and ten requests for additional coverage before a $15–$29 paid edition.
Effort and revenue. 2–3 weeks, then 2–4 hours/month; $50–$700/month.
Agents. ResearchGumi, CodeGumi, ScribeGumi, ReviewGumi.
12. Seasonal craft-fair price-tag generator
Build a local-first browser tool that imports a CSV and exports print-ready price cards, QR payment signs, care-symbol cards, and booth inventory sheets. Sell a one-time desktop/PWA license or themed template packs; no customer data needs to leave the browser.
Why fresh / fit. This is a bounded micro-SaaS/digital-product hybrid for physical makers, distinct from generic Canva templates and the broader maker-operations bundle. It solves repeat formatting work and has near-zero compute cost.
Validation gate. Test with three real craft-fair inventory sheets and two printers. Launch a free 20-item version and charge $19–$39 for unlimited export/templates; require ten licenses before adding cloud sync.
Effort and revenue. 1–2 weeks; 95% automated; $50–$600/month with seasonal peaks.
Agents. CodeGumi, DesignGumi, MarketGumi, human seller QA.
Recommended 30-day sequence
- Week 1: Build and physically test three parametric OpenSCAD product families. In parallel, draft the homelab documentation pack from a real setup.
- Week 2: Publish the free maintenance QR sampler and one GitchPage tested-print article. Apply to the relevant affiliate program only after the article is useful without monetization.
- Week 3: Prototype the local affiliate-link health checker against GitchPage. Release a free report and ask five static-site maintainers whether the paid presets solve a real maintenance burden.
- Week 4: Start the free recall/warranty digest. Do not charge until the subscriber and saved-category gates are met. Test Blink only with an already-complete product.
Guardrails
- Human QA remains mandatory for safety/recall information, physical test prints, crochet care instructions, and engine-version claims.
- Do not scrape authenticated, paywalled, robots-restricted, or terms-restricted sources. Store source URLs and retrieval dates.
- Affiliate content must include prominent disclosures and original evidence. Never inject or silently rewrite links.
- Treat platform claims, payout numbers, commission rates, and creator counts as unverified marketing until confirmed in current program terms.
- Avoid trademarks, fan art, copied patterns/models, proprietary manual tables, and manufacturer endorsement claims.
- Use stop rules before expanding catalogs or committing to recurring hosting.

Source-quality note
Search results are discovery evidence, not proof of demand. Several newly launched creator programs have limited operating history, so platform stability and payout performance are unknown. Validate current eligibility, commissions, fees, tax treatment, and account-export options immediately before enrollment. Revenue ranges are deliberately conservative scenarios based on price × small customer counts, not reported averages.
